ADVANCED PREGNANCY & POSTNATAL MASSAGE CPD COURSE

In this course you will look back on the basics of pregnancy massage before learning about various issues around pregnancy, conception and the postnatal period, and how massage can help.
This course also covers information for an induction massage which can be useful when women do not want a clinical induction. The days leading up to labour can be uncomfortable and stressful, and while pregnancy generally lasts 40 weeks, this can vary from around 37 up to 42 weeks. Induction massage must be carried out by someone who is suitably qualified and experienced, and you can book an additional practical session with me in Tunbridge Wells, to go through this is you prefer.
Induction massage may assist with the natural transition into labour by working on specific acupressure points in the back, feet and hands, helping to open up the pelvic area, allowing more room for the baby to fully engage and stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system to encourage labour. This acupressure may promote uterine contractions and encourage labour to happen naturally.
It will also help reduce stress hormones and increase oxytocin release which is required for childbirth and bonding, and induces deep relaxation to allow the body to do what it needs to do.
