PREREQUISITES: Body Massage Diploma, Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology

This course is intended for anyone who has already undertaken a basic body massage course training:-

• and would like to develop their knowledge of the common conditions that affect women, potentially leading them to book a treatment, with self help measures that they can suggest to their clients

LEARNING OUTCOMES

• to develop your understanding of the role, skills and qualities of a successful massage therapist in relation to women’s health

• to extend your knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the female client

• to understand the physical and mental health benefits of massage therapy for the female client who may have been diagnosed with a hormonal or pelvic condition

• to understand what types of massage are best for certain women’s health conditions

• to develop an understanding of the common conditions that affect women which can cause muscle tension and other issues, such as fertility issues for which they seek a treatment – the menopause, pelvic floor weakness, PMDD and endometriosis

• to identify how these medical conditions are affecting the client and be able to offer self help measures that they can try at home

ASSESSMENT

Theory assessment only - The overall pass mark must exceed 70%. If the mark is lower, a retake is available free of charge.

QUALIFICATION: Massage for Women's Health is accredited by the IGCT and will act as an addition to your CPD. Theory assessment with a pass score of 70%. If you don’t pass the first time you can retake the assessment at no extra charge.
